Hi! I have read a great deal on cnn.com and other news outlets about the phenomenom of “man caves,” a space in an otherwise “femininely decorated” home where the man of the house is given free reign to decorate as he pleases. Many men also use these spaces to participate in hobbies and hold social gatherings. I am a freelance writer searching for women who have created similar spaces in their homes. Today I visited a lady who has a craft room in which she does weaving and knitting and similar crafts. It is a large room with a big sunny window looking toward the sea which is 100 yards away. The room is decorated with things that she has made and things received from other women , she is often in there doing some form of craft work or will also just go in there to drink some tea or else sit quietly. Her husband never goes in there , he will talk to her standing in the doorway but that is as far as he goes.
