I love my mother, but she is continually buying me things (knick-knacks mostly) and sometimes clothes that I do not like. If I get rid of things she gives me, I will hear about it when she visits. She doesn’t spend very much money on the stuff. She gets most of it at Goodwill. I don’t want all these items! She believes I don’t have enough stuff and it is crucial to her that I “decorate” my home with useless items.
Boyfriend tells me to just get rid of it all and let my mother get over it.

Just let her know how you feel about the “gifts” that she gives you. That she doesn’t have to keep on buying you gifts every time she comes on over to visit you. Also tell her that her coming on over is much more then a gift!
